Dealing with it

The sale of Northwestel's internet service in the North is still pending.

Northwestel made a significant announcement last June.

The company was in talks to sell its internet services in the North to a consortium of Indigenous-led companies.

It was rumoured to be a deal worth $1-Billion dollars, and would create the largest Indigenous-owned telecom in the world.

More than a year later, the deal has yet to be finalized.

I spoke with tech analyst Carmi Levy about some of the issues that may be delaying the final agreement.
